Forensics

Scores are given to both individuals and teams.

Individuals are given a score for each round. The score (also called the rating) cannot exceed 30 and has a minimum of 16 points. This is the "top number". They are also ranked in order of 1st Place, 2nd Place, etc. that is also called the "bottom number". The top and bottom numbers are added up for a total tournment score. The goal to is keep your top number high and bottom number low.

Judges can also write feedback on the ballots, which are returned to students at the end of every meet.

In order to be considered as a team, as far as scoring is concerned, there must be one student competing in at least four different events. The team score is then figured out by adding all the top numbers and dividing by the number of total scores attained by students.

All scores for the tournaments are kept on a tabulator's sheet and teams are given one copy with the rest of their ballots at the close of every meet.
